When I first started juicing, the thought of a green juice was scary. I mean I loved the color but I knew that green meant veggie town. Therefore as most people do, I eased into it with the sweeter juices containing carrots and beets mixed with fruits. Both carrots and beets tend to give off a special sweetness when they are juiced, unlike um...the greens haha. Now as much as I love the red, purple, and orange juices I currently favor my beloved green juices. Our taste buds change my friends and I cannot repeat that enough. The more we weasel in the veggies, the more our tolerance for sweetness lessens. When we start off with smoothies we begin with all fruit, right? If I'm lucky I can eventually convince my friends and family to add a tad of spinach in their smoothies promising them that they will not notice. Gradually, cucumber or zucchini can join the fun and if you are brave enough like I am, cauliflower. Yes, you read that right, cauliflower. Lately, I have been adding steamed and chilled cauliflower to my smoothies and it's magical. A blog post and recipe on that is coming soon!
Anyhow, back to my love for green juice. This juice is what I crave for most in life. Sometimes I just need to juice up a half gallon of this recipe and sip away. This recipe is called The Bloat Antidote because as you may have guessed, it beats the bloat. Bloating is an unfortunate event that I am far too familiar with. This blend has everything you need to feel flat, fit, and fabulous. This antidote contains fresh mint leaves which are extraordinary for digestion and any digestive condition symptoms (such as gas, abdominal pain due to distention, and indigestion). Ginger root is another ingredient that is well known for it's soothing anti-inflammatory properties. Celery is added here and this veggie is so important for balancing our alkaline levels battling problems related to high acidity and discomfort. Pineapple is a superstar as it contains bromelain which is highly effective in reducing all types of inflammation (again addressing digestive disorders and symptoms). Both the pineapple and kale promote a healthy and regular digestive tract. Lemon aids in the production of digestive juices and the cucumber reduces water retention. I have recently started off a few mornings a week with a half gallon mason jar of this delicious juice. I have noticed that I feel absolutely incredible and I am carefully listening to my body and it's needs. Juicing is the best way to provide our bodies with rich nutrients that immediately flourish our health and wellness. Whenever I feel off, am battling with indigestion or even feel a mild cold coming on-I juice. And my body thanks me for it every single time.

In case you are wondering, no-this juice will not cause you to umm...have an immediate explosive reaction of any sort. From my experience, I am able to enjoy my juice in peace and within an hour or two I head to washroom in a lesiurely manner. No surprises other than feeling RADICAL! If you try it out, let me know what you think!
